Young is a flourishing regional centre just under two hours from Canberra. Originally founded as a pastoral settlement, the town shot ahead with the discovery of gold in the 1860’s and the rush has been on ever since. Today the major industries of agriculture, horticulture, construction, engineering and steel fabrication, retail, services industries and health care and education mean that residents enjoy stable employment and advancement opportunities along with a very comfortable standard of living.
