Harden Murrumburrah

Harden Murrumburrah is a tale of two towns, first was the original settlement of Murrumburrah, established on the Murrimboola Creek by the early pioneers of the region and then later came Harden, built originally as a railway siding and later to become a town in it’s own right. These days, Harden Murrumburrah exists essentially as a town to the casual traveller heading along the Burley Griffin Way. The twin towns boast many benefits for those looking for a treechange with a modern well staffed medical centre, dentist, hospital, new ambulance station and aged care facilities that towns twice the size would envy.

The Burley Griffin Way is a vital link from the Riverina to Sydney, with thousands of tonnes of fresh fruit, wine, grain and produce making it’s way through town daily, along with many visitors and caravanners passing through or stopping for a bite to eat or a coffee. Along with being only a short drive to major centres, including Canberra, there’s always the option of rail travel for those preferring to let someone else do the driving with Harden well situated on the Sydney/ Melbourne line.

Housing
Houses are very reasonably priced with blocks of land from around $30,000 upwards and homes from around $120,000 upwards. Small acreages can be had for around the cost of a parking space in Sydney and rural properties in this area, which are regarded by many  as some of the best agricultural land in NSW, command upwards of $2000 per acre for those wanting to go farming. If the rat race is wearing you down, and a friendly smile or a wave from a neighbour and a possibly mortgage free lifestyle appeals, Harden Murrumburrah could be the change you’ve been looking for.

Education
For families, Harden Murrumburrah has a number of education options: Bunyip Pre-school, Murrumburrah Public School, Murrumburrah High School, and Trinity Catholic College. There are public schools located in the nearby villages of  Jugiong and Wombat.
