Araluen

Araluen is a small town near Braidwood which lies in the valley of Araluen Creek, that joins the Deua River at roughly the midpoint in its course. One of the most famous gold rush towns in NSW, thousands of people came to Araluen to look for gold in the 1860s when there were more than 20 hotels in Araluen. Today it is more famous for its orchards and beautiful scenery.
