Mystery Bay

The mystical presence of Montague Island off Eurobodalla’s coastline looms large at Mystery Bay. But the beautiful beach got its name from the 1880 disappearance of government geologist, Lamont Young. Young and his party were on a mission to inspect the goldfields of the area when their boat was found abandoned on a beach that forever more was known as Mystery Bay. Beautiful camping sites sit atop the headland, which for many become a base for their unspoilt holiday.

Mystery Bay is 15km south of Narooma, and 70km south of Batemans Bay. It is a short 2km from the Princes Highway.
