Established in 1986, Lintek is a manufacturer of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). The company supplies its products to government departments in Canberra, commercial businesses nationally, and select overseas markets.
Lintek’s Managing Director, Carl Tengstrom, says that Lintek’s patented copper vacuum deposition process enables the company to make very accurate copper features for PCBs that are required for RF and microwave application – which is particularly important for radar application and electronic warfare systems used for defence.
Technical Director, Renato Morosin, says that Commonwealth support and funding has allowed Lintek to purchase new equipment (most of which has been manufactured locally), which has been great for business and expanded their capabilities to further meet client needs.
Based in Queanbeyan, Lintek employs around 50 people from the local region. Carl says that they find the people from Queanbeyan to be very hard-working and honest, and the company benefits from a very low staff turnover.
Renato, who lives in the nearby suburb of Jerrabomberra, says that it takes very little time to get to work in the morning, and he enjoys being within five minutes of everything they need in Queanbeyan.
Carl says that anyone thinking of moving to the area to start a business will have the opportunity to work with a great local community, and enjoy the benefits of the range of services and facilities that Queanbeyan offers. “The Queanbeyan business community have a lot of interest in working together, and try to facilitate that as much as they can. It’s a pleasure coming to work every morning.”
