Fishing

Hook yourself a great escape when you visit the Canberra Region Coast

There is an abundance of choice for anglers when visiting the COAST. This is pristine, undeveloped, under-fished, rich fishing territory.

Try Bermagui and Narooma for chasing the big game fish with Bermagui famous for it’s Marlin catches.

There are endless places where you can catch a meal from the land with dozens of estuaries being ideal for the family looking for fun and a feed or even a fishing aficionado chasing target species like Bass or big Bream.

The COAST is also dotted with boat ramps, charter boats and tackle shops to service the holiday-makers fishing needs. Merimbula is an ideal launch point and likewise there are great fishing adventures to be had on the Tuross River

And it is about more than fish: this COAST is famous for its shellfish. Prawns, oysters, mussels.  So if you don’t mind hunting with a net and a torch, catching your own prawns, then head to a local tackle shop or ask a local for some tips.
