Pambula

Pambula offers relaxed living by a sparking ocean and estuary. The town’s cosmopolitan main street adds an extra dynamic that fosters a growing community of creatives.

The pace of life in Pambula invites you to stop and enjoy fresh bakery treats, coffee inspired by a passion for how its grown, and local wines, cheeses and produce.

At the fringe of the CBD is the Panboola Wetland, a throwback to the Aboriginal word that inspired the town’s name. Meaning ‘twin waters’, Panboola takes in Pambula’s old racetrack and over many years of community minded effort has led to the creation of pathways that allow for birdwatching and fitness in an environment where the river meets the ocean. Pambula Surf Lifesaving Club is a real force within the community, this group of volunteers are responsible for an inspired program called ‘The Same Wave’ which allows people of all abilities to enjoy the ocean in confidence.

Pambula’s bustling main street and interesting mix of businesses makes town living very appealing. The nearby community of Pambula Beach hugs clean sands and sapphire waters, and boasts architecturally designed houses. Only 3 hours from Canberra, the median house price in Pambula is $347,000 and $655,000 at nearby Pambula Beach.

Pambula parents and carers are spoilt for choice when it comes to education. This country community has all the government and non-government choices of a metropolitan area, but generally speaking without the price tag. This rural – coastal environment enlivens and child’s education, and mixed with a dynamic local arts community Bega Valley children get a unique experience. Local schools include Pambula Public School, Eden Marine High School, Mumbulla School for Rudolf Steiner Education, St Patrick’s Primary School, Thomas More Christian Montessori School, Sapphire Coast Anglican College and Lumen Christi Catholic College.
